CBP arrest MS-13 gang member, dad with kids

MS-13 gang member, dad with kids arrested this weekend Customs and Border Protection agents seized 66 pounds of marijuana and arrested a member of the MS-13 gang during separate incidents on Saturday, October 13.

Agents apprehended the pair and discovered the backpacks were filled with approximately $33,000 worth of marijuana. The marijuana was seized for destruction. The suspects, both Mexican nationals, were processed for removal.

On Saturday evening, Yuma Station agents patrolling near Andrade, California, observed the illegal entry of four subjects. Agents responded to the area on ATVs and apprehended the group. During processing, agents learned one of the subjects was a Honduran national and a member of the MS-13 gang. The suspected gang member was last deported in April of this year and is now being held for prosecution.

A Mexican national, who is a permanent resident of the United States was arrested on Sunday, October 14, for attempting to smuggle more than $51,000 worth of marijuana through the Customs and Border Protection Douglas port of entry.

CBP officers conducted a thorough inspection and found more than 100 packages of marijuana throughout the vehicle. The drugs, weighing 102 pounds, and the vehicle were seized.

The drugs and vehicle were processed for seizure and Gaxiola was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations.
