Dead victim of Tucson drive-by shooting found 2 days later

Shortly before noon on June 8, 2014, the Tucson Police Department received a 911 call reference a possible drive-by shooting in the area of East Valencia Road and South Tucson Boulevard. It was reported that occupants of a passenger vehicle had fired multiple shots at a white passenger vehicle and that one of the occupants had possibly been shot.

According to the Department, officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the vehicles or any crime scene.

On June 10, 2014, the Tucson Police Department received a 911 call from an employee at an industrial building in the 6200 block of South Sears Boulevard. The caller reported that a white vehicle with multiple bullet holes was located in the parking lot behind the business. The caller also stated that there was possibly a deceased male in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Officers responded to the scene and located the vehicle.

The subject in the passenger seat, identified as 35-year old Jesus Alcarez-Ruiz, was pronounced deceased on scene and had obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

Detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. They were able to determine that the vehicle located was the same vehicle involved in the drive-by shooting from June 8th.

Detectives are still in the initial stages of this investigation. The Tucson Police Department is encouraging anyone with information to please call 911 or 88-CRIME
