Bronson set to go over the edge for Girl Scouts

Many Pima County residents believe that County Supervisor Sharon Bronson went over the psychological edge this year when she attacked residents at a Board meeting, on Saturday, she will physically go over the edge.

Bronson, chair of the Board of Supervisors, will join about 75 other people this Saturday to rappel off the side of an 18-story building at 5151 E. Broadway Blvd. to raise money for Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bronson is expected to rappel at approximately 11 a.m.

The “Go Over the Edge with Girl Scouts” event is raising money for the more than 14,000 scouts in Pima, Cochise, Santa Cruz, Greenlee, Graham and Yuma counties.

Funds will help with field trips, sports, skill-building, clinics, community service projects, social justice programs, cultural exchanges and environmental stewardship.

Bronson wrote on the donation page for “Over the Edge” that she’s making the plunge because, “life is a risky business. We can react to risk and to life in several ways. We can shrink from it in fear or embrace it with courage and confidence. The Girl Scouts teaches girls from across the United States how to develop the necessary courage, strength of character and confidence to become tomorrow’s leaders and innovators.”
