6-year-old Tucson boy killed riding bike

The Tucson Police Department is investigating a vehicle collision that resulted in the death of a 6-year-old boy.

On April 3, 2015, just before 4:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a young boy at an apartment complex located at 6200 S. Campbell Ave. The Tucson Fire Department also responded but the boy was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives were able to determine the driver of a UPS truck was making deliveries in the complex. The driver pulled into the lot and prepared to back up the vehicle into a parking space. The 6-year-old boy had been riding his bicycle behind the vehicle. Prior to backing, the driver checked the backup camera, mirrors and honked the horn. As the driver began backing, the boy was struck by the vehicle.

The boy was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the vehicle was an adult male who stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No citations were issued.

The 6-year-old boy has been identified as Daylin Garcia Enos. Next of kin have been notified.
