Pima County deputy admin named

Pima County Finance and Risk Management Director Tom Burke has been promoted to deputy county administrator. Martin Willett held that position until he retired in July after more than 27 years with Pima County.

Willett settled a claim against the County earlier this month for $1.8 million after he hit a gap between the roadway and the walkway on the Dodge Boulevard bridge over the Rillito River. He filed a $6 million personal injury lawsuit against the County in 2014.

Burke will oversee the human resources, procurement, fleet services, information technology, facilities management and finance departments. Keith Dommer will replace Burke. Dommer managed the Arizona Auditor General’s Tucson regional office.

As with all of Pima County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry’s top picks, Dommer was behind the favorable literary masterpiece contained in the 2012 audit of Pima County bond spending by Arizona Auditor General’s office.
