Talkington failed to appear in court
On May 15, 2015, at approximately 11:16 a.m., Pima County deputies responded to the area of West Shannon Road and North Linda Vista Boulevard. Joggers had called 9-1-1 to report a pickup truck they had found in the desert area west of that location.
The caller reported a man slumped over inside the pickup truck, and they saw a lot of blood. Responding deputies confirmed the man was deceased and notified the Homicide Unit. Detectives responded to the scene and identified the deceased as 60-year-old Gary Talkington, who failed to appear in court yesterday reference his conviction in a sex crimes trial.
Detectives confirmed that Talkington was found with obvious trauma, which appeared to be self-inflicted. A suicide note was found at the scene as well. The investigation continues.
