Arizona State Library Doles Out Federal Funds

The Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records (State Library), a division of the Secretary of State, has issued more than a half-million dollars in grants throughout the state for various library projects. The grant money was made possible with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

“Libraries are changing to meet the informational and educational needs of today’s society,” said Secretary of State Michele Reagan. “In addition to their traditional services, libraries are offering more educational programming for all ages and becoming technological centers for their communities, offering the public access to items like 3D printers. The libraries receiving awards this spring reflect the transformation taking place in libraries statewide.”

Some of the programs funded by the grant program include: early literacy programs, tutoring services for teens, English as a second language education support, as well as science, technology/multimedia, engineering, arts, and math spaces.
