The who’s who of Pima County pork pushers called a press conference on Monday to announce the formation of “Yes on Pima County Bonds.” The group is headed up by Pima County Bond Advisory Committee member Larry Hecker.
The group represents many of the entities that will benefit from the new tax increase should the massive bond package pass.
Pima County Supervisor Richard Elias, former supervisor Dan Eckstrom, and the head of Rio Nuevo, Fletcher McCusker were just a few of the notables that gathered to hear about the group’s plans to promote the bond.
The proposed $815 million package will be voted on in the November 2015 election.
Today, the supervisors will vote to approve a $1.1 billion budget.
