Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a 40-year-old Douglas woman during a failed smuggling incident Wednesday (July 22) at the Port of Douglas.CBP officers at the Port of Douglas located packages of marijuana underneath carpeting in the rear of a smuggling vehicle
During an inspection of her Mercury van, officers discovered more than 258 pounds of marijuana concealed throughout the vehicle, worth in excess of $129,000.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle. The subject was arrested and she was referred the subject to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
