Newborn Found in Glendale Dumpster

On Saturday, August 15, 2015, just after 12:30 am, the Glendale Police Department received a 911 call reporting a newborn baby found in a dumpster. Both the Glendale Police and Glendale Fire Departments responded to this dumpster to the rear of the Food City shopping plaza at 5900 W. Bethany Home Road, however, the newborn was deceased.

The initial investigation revealed that a transient couple had been looking in the dumpster, located the newborn male and called police immediately. Violent Crimes Detectives responded to assume the investigation. All local hospitals were notified to be aware of any female patients who appeared to have recently given birth. It is believed that this newborn was not born in a hospital setting.

At this time the Glendale Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying this newborn and anyone responsible for this incident. We would like to specifically ask that they are mindful of any women they know who suddenly and mysteriously no longer appear pregnant, but do not have a newborn child with them.

The Glendale Police ask that you call (623)930-3000 or Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS with tips or information.
