Over Half Of Voters Unsure Douglas Should Be Recalled

In a recent survey, more than half of Arizona voters were unsure or do not believe Superintendent of Public Instruction Diane Douglas. The small poll conducted by MBQF, shows Douglas with a high unfavorability number, but a reluctance among voters to support her recall.

The poll, conducted the day after a group filed paperwork with the Arizona Secretary of Stateasked asked:

“Yesterday, paperwork was filed to initiate a recall effort on State Superintendent of Education, Diane Douglas, if given the opportunity to sign the recall petition, would you do so? “

The robodialing poll included a mere 857 high efficacy voters statewide, conducted on September 2, 2015, the survey calculates a 3.33% theoretical margin of error, plus or minus in percentage points, 95% of the time.

MBQF pollster Mike Noble, appearing on the popular James T. Harris radio show in Tucson said the recall group has “a monumental task ahead of them. Unless they get serious funding it is not going to hapen. The sheer number of bodies you need to get the job done is mind blowing.”

Noble said that “there are very few campaigns that get enough signatures. Maybe the Ron Paul movement. but with political novices, I don’t see how you get it done. Unless you have someone who is really unhappy with the superintendent it is not going to happen.”

Noble’s poll shows that many are unhappy with the superintendent. Over 54 percent of those asked about her performance found it to be less than satisfactory.
