Cochise County Sheriff Close Cold Case For Hereford Mom

crime scene notice

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office has been working to bring some closure to a Hereford woman after her son, Andrew Gasson, was found murdered in his home in September of 2014.

On September 20, 2014, Mr. Gasson was found deceased in his home on Parra Lane in Hereford by his mother. His mother said that she had not heard from Andrew in some time, so she drove to his residence to check on him and when she arrived at his home the front gate to the property and the front door to the house were open. The mother said that she walked in and called for Andrew before finding him lying on the kitchen floor. Andrew Gasson was deceased at the scene and there are indications that this incident is drug related.

Autopsy results indicate that Andrew Gasson died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Months of investigation, to include hundreds of interviews in Arizona and in Idaho, positively identified the suspects as Martin Wetstein, Kelly Tarrant, and Christopher Cruz who have all been charged with 1st Degree Murder.

Greg Tarrant (father of Kelly Tarrant) was found to be complicit in the crime by destroying and disposing of the murder weapon, a 9mm semi-automatic pistol. He has been charged with destruction of evidence in the case.
