The president of the Maricopa County chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Don Harris has resigned after coming under fire for a sexist remark to reporter.
According to he Phoenix News Times, Harris told Monique Griego of Channel 12 News (KPNX-TV) that she had “nice t**s.” The bizarre comment was made after a meeting with local community leaders last month regarding the photo of six local high school girls spelling the n-word with letters on their T-shirts.
After his comment was publicized, Harris apologized, but it was even more bizarre than the statement. He Phoenix New Times he was “really fucking sorry,” and that it just slipped out, “guy to guy.”
“I’m going to slash my wrists. Better yet, I’m going to throw myself out of a fucking window, except I’m on the first floor,” said Harris.
