Pinal County Jailer, Superior Mayor Put On Administrative Leave

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Town of Superior that they requested a criminal investigation be completed by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office against Mayor Jayme Valenzuela, who has been accused of misusing the town credit card, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

As a standard procedure during a criminal investigation of this nature, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has placed Commander Valenzuela on paid administrative reassignment pending the outcome of the Attorney General’s investigation.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office reports that it “has verified while Commander Valenzuela does have a Pinal County issued credit card there have been no inappropriate charges.”
