Tucson Border Patrol Agent’s Vehicle Sabotaged

The National Border Patrol Council is reminding agents to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings when stopping at any local business after a Tucson Sector Border Patrol agent’s vehicle was sabotaged.

On Thursday, an agent stopped, while on duty and in his marked ride, at a local convenience store. As the agent returned to his vehicle and began to open the front passenger seat door, he felt a sharp pain in his finger. The agent looked under the door handle and discovered a hypodermic needle stuck to gum. Tucson Station management was immediately contacted and in-turn the FBI was informed and has begun an investigation.

This action was intentional and was meant to hurt anyone who attempted to open the door of the vehicle, according to the Local 2544 website posting.

Local 2544 President Art Del Cueto stated “I cannot believe this has happened, our agents have worked so hard to make these border communities safe for every resident and then this happens.”
