Former Pima County Supervisor Ann Day Killed In Collision

Former Pima County Supervisor Ann Day was killed on Saturday in a head-on collision. The 77 year old  Day was driving near the Westward Look resort on Ina Road at approximately 8 a.m. when the driver of a Chevrolet Impala crossed the raised median and crashed into her Toyota Prius. A truck following Supervisor Day was unable to maneuver around the collision and rear ended her car.

Northwest Fire District paramedics responded. She was transported to Banner University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The other two drivers were also transported to Banner University Medical Center for serious but non-life threatening injuries. The Traffic Unit responded and took over the investigation. More information will be provided as the investigation progresses.

Supervisor Ally Miller, who replaced Day as Distict 1 supervisor issued a statement offering her prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Day.
