TPD Investigates Homicide Near Ft. Lowell

The Tucson Police Department is actively investigating the homicide of Enrique Bracamonte that occurred Tuesday evening in the 3100 block of N. Richey Blvd.

On Tuesday June 28, 2016, around 8:10 p.m., officers from Operations Division Midtown and the K-9 Unit responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 3100 block of N. Richey Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in the roadway with obvious signs of gunshot trauma and immediately began rendering aid. Members from the Tucson Fire Department arrived on scene a short time later and transported the male to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Shortly after arrival at the hospital, the male was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as 30-year-old Enrique Bracamonte. Next of kin have been notified.

Detectives from the Tucson Police Department’s Night Detective Unit and Homicide Unit responded to the scene continue the investigation. The investigation is in the early stages but detectives have learned there was a small gathering at the residence that included the use of narcotic drugs. An altercation occurred at the residence that led to an exchange of gunfire where Mr. Bracamonte was struck. He fled the area but succumbed to injuries and collapsed in the street. One person remained behind and spoke with detectives. The other people at the residence fled prior to police arrival. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
