ABOR To Hire Expert To Evaluate UA Colleges Of Medicine Operations

In a special Board meeting on Friday, the Arizona Board of Regents instructed the Board’s general counsel to engage an outside expert to compile information and review and evaluate the concerns raised pertaining to the UA Colleges of Medicine and submit a report to the Board’s general
counsel and the Board.

The meeting follows two recent meetings of the ABOR Health Affairs Committee that addressed a range of topics concerning the UA Colleges of Medicine. The meetings included discussions on plans and timelines for filling key leadership vacancies; the organizational, reporting and decision making structure
of the Colleges of Medicine in Phoenix and Tucson; the colleges’ financial operations; and an update on the Banner Health affiliation agreement.
