A Pinal County Superior Court judge sentences a Casa Grande man to the Department of Corrections for the rest of his life for crimes he committed during a 30-year span.
On Friday, Luis Guanajuato Martinez received 283.5 years in prison plus two lifetime prison sentences.
In July, a Pinal County jury convicted the 54-year-old man on 24 felony counts, including, seven counts of Sexual Abuse; nine counts of Molestation of a Child; seven counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor, and one count of Sexual Assault for molesting ten children since 1979.
The first victim reported to law enforcement the defendant molested her between 1979 and 1983. The last report stemmed from a 2012 event. The victims range from family members to family friends, between eight to 16 years of age.
Due to the locations of where the crimes occurred in those 30 years, the Casa Grande Police Department and the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office conducted separate investigations. In 2013, CGPD arrested the defendant during a traffic stop near his house.
