Former AZ Rep Velasquez Sentenced For Food Stamp Fraud

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Coury sentenced former Rep. Ceci Velasquez to one year of probation and 100 hours of community service for unlawful use of food stamps. Velasquez pleaded guilty in October after initially claiming innocence.

Velasquez was charged by the Arizona State Grand Jury on May 23, 2016, with three felony counts including Fraudulent Schemes and Practices, Unlawful Use of Food Stamps, and Theft.

She blamed her fraud on her health and her daughter.
