Politics Is The Art Of The Pot Calling The Kettle Black

It is suspect that President Obama’s primary goal of accusing Russia of hacking the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is not about a wrongful cyber-attack. It is all about painting President-Elect Trump into a corner to make it difficult for him to deal with Putin. The Democrats also want to find an excuse for losing the election and Russian hacking is a likely cause. Overlooked is if the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s emails were squeaky clean, hackers would have not found any inappropriate actions that had any political interest. A bigger picture of politics includes the type of law that they can rely on.

What do they want? Under English Law you are innocent until proven guilty. Under Latin Law, you are guilty until proven innocent, or “the hysterical judgement of mob rule that incites lynch law” is a favorite choice of politicians. Our misguided media usually fails to understand the fragilities of political behavior. The old saying, “the first liar never has a chance in the men’s locker room or college fraternity house.” In these locations, male talk is undergoing an ego-building process in order to overcome unmet needs. It starts with how big the fish that was caught was, or how big the rack of horns was on the elk that was shot.  Soon the braggadocio degrades to a fantasy of what the joy of sex could be.

In the world of political nonsense, most politicians do not want to discuss the subject on how to defend our country, improving the economy so everyone makes more money while reducing unemployment, protecting our citizens from terrorists, reducing our national debt of nearly 20 trillion dollars, and stop illegal border crossers by those who want a better life and those who smuggle drugs or engage in criminal activities. It should be a felony to illegally cross our border.

Back to square one, the fantasyland of the male locker room talk is a hot ticket subject that creates public indignation that is a favorite tool of politicians because there is no test for fact. Overlooked, is that everyone is endowed with natures urges to reproduce. To ensure for the protection of children, family values become a core issue to prevent fantasies from becoming a reality.

The strongly motivated individual who wants to set things straight is seen by political riders of a corrupt gravy train as their enemy, who needs to be destroyed for their survival. The old adage that wealth and fame is the toughest test of character, perhaps the strongly motivated individual who has the clout of wealth and fame may also be venerable to speculation that he could be a victim of his fantasyland. So, here we go again and again when unfounded slander becomes the most effective method the corrupt establishment uses to protect their golden apple cart. Our media is blind when in pursuit of yellow journalism and did not take the high road of ethical publication. Our religious philosophy is the glue that holds society together. When the media chooses to enter the fray and becomes the purveyor of alleged scandal, they fail to abide by the wisdom of religious faith that only those without sin may cast stones on the sinful opponent.

The recent race to the White House became a multi-ring circus to derail the opposing candidate. The weapon of choice was scandal, to reduce the dialogue to nasty sound bites that produces political confusion.  This was the primary reason that Donald Trump was elected to be our President, because the public became aware that this ploy did not address overcoming the issues that need to be addressed. The media has a duty to be the gatekeeper to ensure that only the issues concerning the wellbeing of our constitutional union are the campaign issues. This is the high road of our freedom of the press. Since the beginning of recorded history, leaders have been portrayed for their accomplishments and avoided publicizing their personal lifestyle which has little to do with their ability to be a successful Commander in Chief. King Henry VIII of England (1491-1547), had six wives and overthrew papal authority for banning divorce. He assumed full authority over the Church of England and presided over the beginning of the reformation and the establishment of English Law. So, from this time forward, the dealing with personal frailties of conduct was a matter of English Law that one is innocent until proven guilty and is not a matter of public opinion that exercises lynch law. For these reasons, to protect the freedom of the press by being corrupted by public speculation needs to be the gatekeeper to ensure that all matters concerning personal indiscretions be handled by the justice system and only publicized after it becomes a ruling of the court.

Another thing that makes the media look stupid is to engage in speculation that a candidate is unfit to be President or holder of public office because of their temperament or personal life. Harry Truman would never have passed his nomination for Vice President if it depended upon public speculative opinion rather than President Franklin Roosevelt’s choice. When Truman became President, he dramatically ended the war with Japan by using the atomic bomb that had just been developed by the super-secret Manhattan Project. Since then, the moral theorists decry Truman’s leadership that saved millions of American servicemen’s lives, had they been required to defeat Japan with conventional warfare.

The lessons to be learned are that American politicians in their race for public office shall only address issues that relate to enhancing or preserving our constitutional union. Slandering someone to gain a competitive advantage has always been considered to be of poor taste. These remarks are tainted and labeled as the pot calling the kettle black. Religious ethic infers that our allegations of someone’s inappropriate personal conduct are left to a higher authority.

It was amazing how late on the night out West on 8 November, all of a sudden the candidate who was expected to lose, won the race to the White House.  The newscasters were squirming as they could not figure out why it happened.  Every indicator to the press never worked. The more Donald Trump was accused of being incompetent for the White House, the more momentum he gained. Apparently, Donald Trump had two skills. First, he understood why people were dissatisfied with the way our country was governed. Second, he knew the buzz words that unified the voters who were dissatisfied. So what happened? A great miracle – that can only be described as follows:  Our faith includes the belief that our savior “ascended into Heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.” The monstrous sin by the media was to focus on trivia that has no meaning for solving our major national issues and Trump opponents lost the election.

Listening to the transition of the Obama administration to President-Elect Trump sounds like a soap opera. During this period, it seems like Obama came up with something new every day to make the incoming Trump administration fail. Clearly, this is the “pot calling the kettle black.”
