U.S., Mexico Dismantle Catapult Used To Launch Drugs Over Border Near Douglas

Border Patrol agents in Douglas, Ariz. removed a catapult from the border fence, which was being used to hurl bundles of marijuana into the U.S. from Mexico

While patrolling an area east of the Douglas Port of Entry on Feb. 10, agents noticed several people on the south side quickly retreating from the fence as they approached. When agents arrived at the fence they found a catapult system attached to the south side of the border fence. They searched the area and located two bundles of marijuana.

Agents contacted law enforcement authorities in Mexico who responded to investigate. U.S. Border Patrol agents dismantled the catapult system which was seized by Mexican authorities. Border Patrol agents took possession of the marijuana that weighed more than 47 pounds combined.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials welcome assistance from their law enforcement partners in Mexico, as well as U.S. citizens who often report suspicious activity to the Border Patrol.

  1. It’s a bird.. It’s a plane… no it’s ‘Super Blunt’ ! the flying Kilo Bird.. faster than a fence jumping Pot mule, more ingenious than a pot filled pinata loaded truck, more efficient than a tunneling pot miner – it’s ‘Super BLUNT’! the kilo flicking flying fabulous flicker flingering pot chucker. Watch out for flying pot loads – be an interesting road sign… a flying mule loaded with bags.

  2. brings to mind the new Mexican “T” Shirt I saw… has a large mustached Mexican gentleman with a large round hat – says – Hey Gringo – your building a fence.. it’s OK we’ll Get Over It!

  3. Ingenious coupled with the technologies and resources, Mexico can now compete with the best the world has to offer. Scuba diver coming up the Channel in Yuma with motorized propulsion equipment. Small pickups shooting 2 lb cans from PVC pipe on the rack using compressed air and fired with irrigation controllers. Once small ultralites now drones. 1000’+ bores with steel sleeves sending wheeled sleds using vacuum and compression. What is going to happen the manufacture/distribution will just occur someplace else.
Are we going to be like what Seattle is starting, free zones where use and supply are given strictly monitored and administered? For this to happen supplier and enforcer has to be the same looking for sustainability and growth. Does anything really change.

  4. Simple Solution – Put our Military Troops on the Borders with “Loaded Guns” and treat trespassers like Area 51 violators. The rest of the world treats their borders like this why don’t we? A strong response sends a strong message – Enough Bull Shit!

  6. I envision a large swing like device, push me daddy push me higher… and at peak jump – shaaazzaammm your over the fence and float down in America… there’s just to much flow to expect to stop it – getting caught is just a price of doing business – they know it, we know it – find a means to tax it and get over it, you don’t have to inhale – just like Clinton didn’t
