Cochise County Sheriff’s Deputy Recognized For Saving Infant

Deputy Daniel E Romero

On October 8, 2015, Cochise County Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel E Romero responded to a call for an infant not breathing in the McNeal area. Upon arrival at the residence, Deputy Romero quickly assessed the situation and began anti-chocking procedures which the Sheriff’s Office was recently trained on.

Deputy Romero did not get a response from his efforts and immediately began CPR and mouth to mouth resuscitation on the infant which he continued for several minutes prior to being relieved by medical personnel.

Due to his efforts the child is alive today.

Sheriff Dannels said, “Deputy Romero’s dedication to duty and to the public he serves reflects greatly upon himself, and he upholds the highest traditions of the core values of the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.”
