Off Duty Border Patrol Agents Provide Lifesaving Care To Motorcycle Accident Victim

Off duty Sonoita Border Patrol agents were on their way home from work when they drove upon an accident involving a motorcycle with two riders and a truck towing a boat. The female passenger on the motorcycle sustained life threatening injuries and was treated by a trained Border Patrol Emergency Medical Technician at the scene.

Other agents assisted by helping to stabilize and comfort the woman until Sonoita-Elgin Fire Department paramedics arrived. A life-flight crew also responded and transported the woman to a local hospital. The drivers of the truck and motorcycle declined medical care.

Border Patrol agents often are the first emergency responders to arrive at the scene of an accident or other emergency.  The Border Patrol also works in partnership with local fire departments and emergency medical services, combining resources to help save anyone in need.
