CBP Officers In Douglas Seize $156K In Marijuana

Drug smugglers attempted to hide more than 300 pounds of marijuana from officers in Douglas

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Raul Hector Castro Port of Entry in Douglas, Arizona, arrested a 34-year-old Mexican woman Tuesday when she attempted to enter the United States with more than 300 pounds of marijuana hidden throughout her Buick SUV.

CBP officers working with a narcotics-detection canine found numerous bundles of marijuana hidden throughout the vehicle’s interior and exterior. Officers seized the drugs, worth an estimated $156,000, and vehicle.

The driver was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
