Yavapai County Probationer Arrested For Aggravated Assault

Brian Doyle Bannon of Prescott Arrested while on Probation.

On June 3, 2017, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded the report of a 33-year-old female assault victim seeking assistance in the Mountain Club HOA, Prescott after being assaulted by Brian Bannon. She was wearing a blood soaked shirt and bleeding from a head wound.

The victim’s vehicle was located nearby where the assault occurred. While being treated, she provided a general suspect description and mentioned she initially met the suspect in a Prescott area bar earlier. Deputies followed-up with her at the Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott where they confirmed her identity and learned she had previously filed an assault case involving this current suspect.

While deputies checked for the suspect at the Prescott area bar, the prior assault report was found and identified him as 32-year-old Brian Bannon from Prescott. He was not located during a check of the bar. Deputies did discover evidence the suspect had purchased beer near the Mountain Club property and began contacting area merchants. A bulletin was sent to local police agencies seeking Bannon’s arrest. A clerk nearby recalled seeing the victim and suspect together earlier and confirmed the suspect’s identity based on a unique tattoo the deputies had previously discovered.

A short time later, Prescott Police Officers located Bannon near the bar and detained him after a brief foot chase. Bannon admitted to some involvement in the assault while blaming another female, possibly his current girlfriend, for instigating the assault after realizing Bannon was seeing the victim. Although detectives have some leads, they would like to locate this woman for questioning about the incident.

Bannon was booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges including Aggravated Assault and Endangerment. Bannon is on probation and remains in-custody on a $25,000 bond.

If anyone has information about this incident or the female connected to Bannon, you are urged to contact detectives at 928-771-3260 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1800-932-3232. Refer to case no. 17-019658.
