Tucson Attorney Rorex Suspended After Abandoning Three Clients

Attorney Barry W. Rorex of Tucson was suspended for six months and one day after abandoning three clients.

In Count One, Rorex was hired to pursue a landlord/tenant claim for his client. Filing fees were paid by the client and a lawsuit was filed; however, he failed to serve the defendant. Rorex failed to communicate with his client and representation was terminated.

In Count Two, he was hired to assist his client with a landlord/tenant dispute. Rorex sued and served the defendant—then stopped communicating with his client. The case was dismissed by the court due to inactivity and Rorex moved to re-open the case.

In Count Three, Rorex met with his client who hired him to represent him in three cases. After the initial meeting and email exchange between him and his client, Rorex ceased all communication.

Rorex failed to respond to the State Bar’s inquiry in all three counts and failed to appear at a telephonic hearing he requested.

Barry W. Rorex’ six-month and one day suspension was ordered retroactive to Feb. 24, 2017. He was ordered to pay a total of $1,550 in restitution to three clients. He must also pay the State Bar of Arizona for costs and expenses incurred during all proceedings.
