Tucson Motorcyclist Killed In Collision On Tanque Verde

On June 11, 2017, around 2:00 p.m., Tucson Police officers and members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to a report of a serious injury single motorcycle collision in the 8200 block of E. Tanque Verde Rd. Upon arrival, they located a motorcycle rider, 60-year-old Ricky Jay Broscha, with obvious signs of trauma.

Paramedics treated Mr. Broscha, but he succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives interviewed witnesses and collected evidence. They learned the rider of a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle was eastbound in the 8200 block of E. Tanque Verde Rd. Witnesses observed the rider travel in and out of both lanes at a high rate of speed. As the rider moved from the curb lane to the median lane, he struck the raised median. The rider then crossed over the median and crashed into the westbound curb lane. The rider was wearing a helmet but it dislodged during the collision.
