San Luis CBP Officers Seize $113K In Meth

CBP officers pull drugs from compartment.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of San Luis arrested a 31-year-old Mexican man last Wednesday after finding 38 pounds of methamphetamine under the back seats of his Pontiac sedan.

Officers located the drugs with the help of a CBP narcotics-detection canine.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and turned the subject over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.

Federal law allows officers to charge individuals by complaint, a method that allows the filing of charges for criminal activity without inferring guilt. An individual is presumed innocent unless and until competent evidence is presented to a jury that establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
