Lukeville Port Officers Seize Marijuana, Hashish

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of Lukeville arrested a 47-year-old Phoenix man recently after finding more than 580 pounds of marijuana and more than 9 pounds of hashish in his vehicle and a trailer he was pulling.

The man and his wife were returning from Mexico Saturday evening when CBP officers selected his 1998 Lincoln SUV and trailer for a secondary inspection. During the inspection, officers discovered and removed multiple packages from behind a false wall inside the trailer. Officers also found packages of marijuana inside the SUV.

Officers seized the drugs, vehicle and trailer. The driver and passenger were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
