DPS Seeks Applicants For Victims Of Crime Act Assistance Program Grants

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is requesting grant applications to support the delivery of direct services to crime victims under the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Assistance Program. Award agreements that are issued as a result of this Request for Grant Application will be for the term of October 1, 2017, through September 30, 2020 (federal fiscal years 2018, 2019, and 2020). It is anticipated that $44 million will be awarded each fiscal year, for an approximate total of $132 million over the course of the three fiscal years (contingent upon federal funding availability).

Eligible applicants are nonprofit and governmental agencies providing services to victims of crime. Funds assure direct services to help crime victims achieve positive outcomes in the four basic need areas supported by VOCA:  Healing, Safety, Justice, and Economic Restabilization. Pre-application conferences will be held from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm on July 10th and 11th, 2017, at the Bureau of Land Management, National Training Center (NTC) (Washington A, B, C conference rooms) located at 9828 N. 31st Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85051. Due to the venue’s security procedures, please arrive by 8:30 as the conference will begin promptly at 9 am. The following security procedures must be followed. All individuals must enter through the main entrance on the north side of the building. Government employees must bring their government identification badge (which must be visible at all times while in the facility). Non-government employees must bring a driver’s license or state-issued identification card and will be issued an NTC visitor’s badge. Attendees will be on their own for a one hour lunch break.

The content will be the same for both days – application requirements and guidelines will be reviewed and a demonstration of SAGE will be provided.

All applicants who wish to attend a pre-application conference must register via the SAGE homepage. Space is limited, therefore, only two individuals per agency may attend. Prior to the conference, attendees are strongly encouraged to review the DPS–VOCA Guidelines and the SAGE Show Help Instructions (available on the SAGE Homepage). Attendees are asked to bring their own copies of the Guidelines and Instructions to the conference as copies will not be provided.
