Cochise County Traffic Stop Nets Meth For Sale

On Wednesday June 28, 2017, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Carroll Drive and Steffen Street in Sierra Vista.

During the traffic stop, a CCSO K9 alerted which resulted in Methamphetamine being located inside of the vehicle. Through the course of the investigation, it was found the Methamphetamine was sold by 52 year old Triny Archuleta who resides at the Sun Canyon Inn, 260 N. Garden Ave. while it is being renovated.

On Thursday June 29, 2017 a search warrant was obtained for Archuleta, the Sun Canyon Inn, and a vehicle he had been operating. A traffic stop was conducted on Archuleta at E. Wilcox Dr. and S. Moorman Ave.

Archuleta was arrested and the search warrants were executed.

During the search, Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, surveillance cameras and items consistent with drug sales where located, as well was a loaded cross bow and components to make an explosive ordinance device.

Archuleta was booked into the CCSO jail for the following charges:

  • Sale of Dangerous Drugs
  • Possession of Dangerous Drug
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (5 counts)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapons in the Commission of a Drug Offense (2 counts)
  • Prohibited Possessor (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Tampering with Evidence
  • Use of a Building to Sell Drugs

The investigation is being continued by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
