Update-Fife Fire Near Sunizona Now 2100 Acres

The Fife Fire was initially reported Tuesday night about 10:00 p.m., 15 miles southeast of Sunizona and southwest of the Chiricahua National Monument in Cochise County.

The fire is burning on state lands and as of Wednesday evening had grown to 2100 acres. More than 150 fire personnel are working the fire, including nearly a dozen aircraft, multiple hand crews, water tenders and engines. Extra engines have been ordered and specifically assigned for structure protection.

At this time there has been no evacuation or pre-evacuation notices. The Department of Forestry and Fire Management is managing the fire with assistance from the Coronado National Forest.
