Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents from the Ajo Station arrested a MS-13 gang member Sunday night west of Lukeville.
Misael Ramirez-Benitez, an El Salvadorian national, was apprehended after he illegally entered the United States. During processing, agents conducted a records check and discovered Ramirez had been convicted multiple times, in various states, for crimes ranging from assault with a weapon to robbery.
Ramirez is now facing federal criminal charges for re-entry of an aggravated felon.
