San Luis CBP Officers Seize $132K in Meth/Cocaine

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of San Luis arrested a 20-year-old Yuma man after finding nearly $132,000 worth of cocaine and methamphetamine in his vehicle Saturday morning.

Officers referred the man for a secondary inspection of his Ford sedan when he attempted to cross into the United States. As a result, a CBP narcotics-detection canine alerted to one of the vehicle’s rocker panels where officers found 34 pounds of meth, worth almost $103,000, and more than 2.5 pounds of cocaine worth close to $29,000.

Officers arrested the driver for narcotics smuggling before seizing the drugs and vehicle.  The suspected violator was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
