Methamphetamine Seized by Nogales CBP Officers

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of Nogales arrested a 31-year-old Mexican man Wednesday afternoon after finding more than 24 pounds of methamphetamine in his vehicle at the Mariposa crossing.

Officers referred the man for further inspection of his Acura SUV when he attempted to enter the U.S. from Mexico. During the subsequent search, officers found multiple packages of meth, worth in excess $72,000, within the vehicle’s rear quarter panels.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle. The subject was charged for narcotics smuggling and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
