Child Sex Offender Arrested by Border Patrol

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a 42-year-old Guatemalan man Thursday, near Sells, and later learned he was previously removed from the United States following a conviction for sex with a minor.

Agents arrested Miguel Chapeton for illegally entering the U.S. and, during processing, found he was convicted in 1994 in Suffolk County, New York for sex crimes against a child.

Chapeton is being prosecuted for felony immigration charges for re-entering the U.S following deportation.
