Phoenix Mesa Airlines Attendants Want To Drag Fliers Into Contract Dispute

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) this week will push the flying public to badger American and United regional carrier Mesa Airlines to bargain for a fair contract with Mesa Flight Attendants. Mesa Flight Attendants authorized a strike in March, with a 99.56 percent vote.

It is unclear how the AFA believes that bothering fliers with the attendants’ issues will help members.

Passengers need to know Mesa Flight Attendants often must choose between paying utility bills or buying food,” said Sara Nelson, AFA International President.

She went on to say, “Major airlines like American and United profit by paying Flight Attendants at regional airlines substandard wages for doing the same work as mainline carriers and pocketing the difference. That’s just not fair. Enough! Fair contract at Mesa now!”

Mesa Airlines is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona and provides 600 daily departures serving 117 cities, 39 states, the District of Columbia, Canada and Mexico including Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ; and Washington, DC.
