Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Religious Shrine Criminal Damage

On Monday afternoon, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal damage done to a religious shrine in the Bisbee area on State Route 80 near mile post 335.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location and found that a large statue of Virgin Mary was broken off of the base with the top portion missing, and three other smaller statues with the heads broken off and removed from the area. All of these statutes were located inside of a shelter at a pull out off of the highway that is open to the public.
