Casa Grande Police Investigating Child Being Followed By A Stranger

The Casa Grande Police Department is currently investigating an incident involving a child being followed by a stranger. The child was not actually physically contacted or injured in this incident.

On the morning of Friday August 11, a middle school child was verbally contacted in the area of McMurray Boulevard and French Street by a described Hispanic male in an older model red pickup truck. The male was described to be wearing sunglasses, a blue baseball cap, and having a beard and mustache. The male was reported to have told the child to get into his truck. The child refused and continued walking to Casa Grande Middle School without any further contact by the male. The red truck was only described to be older, but in clean condition.

In accordance with their protocols, the Casa Grande Elementary School District notified parents of this incident. CGPD is working with the school district during this investigation and recommends parents frequently speak with their children about safety when traveling to and from school and what to do if approached by strangers.
