TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Raul Hector Castro Port in Douglas, Arizona, arrested a Mexican national on Tuesday (August 15) involving more than 220 pounds of marijuana.
Tuesday afternoon, a CBP narcotics-detection canine alerted to a Ford Mustang driven by a 29-year-old Mexican man. Officers removed more than 229 pounds of marijuana hidden throughout the vehicle, including within the bumpers and seats.
Officers seized the drugs, worth almost $115,000, and his vehicle. After arresting the man for drug smuggling, he was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
