Suspected Illegal Alien Gets Snagged, Injured By Cochise County Mower

On Thursday August 24, 2017 at approximately noon, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office received a report an accident at the intersection of Wilson Road and Willow Way, southwest of Bisbee involving a mower and a suspected illegal alien hiding in a bush.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded along with Bisbee Police Department and Bisbee Fire medical personnel to the scene.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a Cochise County Road Department tractor was mowing the grass on the sides of the road in the area when the safety equipment (chain) snagged onto the leg of a man hiding in the brush. The 27 year-old man was dragged approximately 15 feet before the equipment operator saw him and stopped the machine.

Medical personnel tended to the man, that appeared to have a broken leg as a result of this accident, who was subsequently transported to a Tucson hospital for treatment.
