Border Patrol agents from the Ajo Station, with assistance from an Air and Marine Operations aircrew, rescued two adult Mexican nationals Wednesday night approximately 20 miles southwest of Why, Arizona following a 911 call.
Agents started searching for the individuals early in the afternoon with no success and requested air support from Air and Marine Operations. The aircrew spotted two men shortly before 8 p.m. and guided agents on the ground to their location.
Responding agents found both men. Following an initial health assessment, both men were determined to be in good health. The men were subsequently arrested for immigration violations and transported to the Ajo Station for further processing.
Border Patrol officials encourage anyone in distress to call 911, or activate a rescue beacon, before becoming a casualty.
