Marana Police Nab Serial Robber, Terrorized Pima County Business Owners

A northwest side serial robber, 32-year-old Christopher Hunt-Taylor, was arrested by Marana Police officers on Thursday. According to Pima County business owners Hunt-Taylor has been terrorizing the area since the beginning of August.

Since early August, there have been eight robberies, spanning three law enforcement jurisdictions, believed to involve the same suspect. In each of the robberies, Hunt-Taylor, a heavyset man, wearing a camouflage mask, armed with a black handgun, demanded money. Hunt-Taylor was provided an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing in a silver older model Hyundai Sonata. Detectives from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Marana Police Department, and the Tucson Police Department began working together to locate the suspect.

On Thursday, at approximately 8:30 a.m. there was another robbery at the Subway located at 5095 North La Canada Drive. Marana Police Department located the suspect vehicle at the InTown Suites located at 4314 West Ina Road. They investigated further and made contact with Hunt-Taylor, who matched the description provided in all eight robberies. A search warrant was obtained and items of evidence linking Hunt-Taylor to the robberies were located.

Hunt-Taylor was arrested and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.
