Man Sentenced For Illegally Possessing Firearm On Reservation

Clifford Earl Jordan, 43, of Phoenix, Ariz., was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Steven P. Logan to 87 months in prison for illegally possessing a firearm on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation.  Jordan had previously pleaded guilty to felon in possession of a firearm.

In justifying the increased sentence, Judge Logan noted that Jordan possessed the firearm in connection with a domestic assault against a member of the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation, and he engaged in witness tampering activities designed to cause that victim to recant.
