Share The Force Of Science At ASU Homecoming Festival

The Biodesign Institute at ASU will host “Science is The Force,” a Star Wars-themed tent at the ASU Homecoming Block Party just hours before the Oct. 28 homecoming game against the University of Southern California Trojans.

“We are drawing on a popular science fiction theme to engage visitors with scientific concepts and a little fun,” said Joshua LaBaer, executive director of the Biodesign Institute. “Students, faculty and staff love sharing science, and we get such great feedback that this is a highlight every year.”

At the Biodesign Institute tent, visitors will connect with The Living Force of science as they make a midichlorian coasters with nature’s fractal patterns, learn Jedi secrets and watch Wookie toothpaste erupt like Chewbacca’s temper. Leave with a pair of Yoda ears to show that you are one with The Force.

The tent is not the only stop among the 150 tents spread across 14 acres of the ASU Tempe Campus. The free block party features a festive Sun Devil celebration a perfect chance to learn what Arizona State University has to offer. Collect athlete signatures, watch cultural dancers and enjoy delicious fry bread among other delights. This is a perfect outing for the family.

The Biodesign Institute tent #K-91 will be positioned near the Palo Verde Beach, 510 E. University Dr. Tempe, AZ 85281. The ASU Homecoming Block Party begins four hours before kickoff.
