Peoria Man Drowns In Fossil Creek

On October 8, 2017, at approximately 12:12 p.m. the Gila County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a Peoria, Arizona man, Marvin McClain, age 57 that had drown in the Fossil Creek “Toilet Bowl” swimming hole.

Fossil Creek is approximately 80 miles northeast of Phoenix.

Deputies as well as Tonto Rim Search and Rescue, Pine Strawberry Fire Department, DPS Ranger, and the Gila County Dive Team responded and recovered the body of Mr. McClain.

This is an active investigation.
