Tucson Police Identify Man Found Shot To Death In Running Car

The Tucson Police Department is actively investigating the death of 43-year-old Jose Ramon Lopez, a victim of a homicide that took place on Tucson’s west side.

On November 1, 2017, at approximately 12:20 a.m., the Tucson Police Department received a 911 call about a suspicious vehicle parked in the 1000 block of West Colorado Street. The caller advised that the vehicle had been parked in the roadway for about an hour with the headlights on and the engine running. Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle. As they approached, officers found Mr. Lopez in the front passenger seat with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. Shortly after arrival, officers pronounced Mr. Lopez deceased on scene.

At this time, there are no suspects in custody. Detectives are asking anyone with information to please call 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
