On Tuesday, September 26, 2017, deputies responded to the Brighton Collectibles store located inside La Encantada Mall for a report of two thefts. When deputies arrived, they learned the thefts in question had occurred on Friday, July 28th, and Monday, August 14th.
Video surveillance from both days showed a female suspect selecting and putting multiple items into her bra and purse. Detectives from the Community Problems Unit have taken over the investigation and believe the same suspect committed the thefts.
The suspect is described as:
• Caucasian, in her mid-to-late 40s, with long blonde hair
• Average height and build
• Walks with a noticeable limp and a cane
