Mesa Police Hoping To Identify Suspected Chihuahua Thief

Mesa Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspected Chihuahua thief shown in the photographs above, who was going door to door in a residential neighborhood near Greenfield Rd and Main St, soliciting to repaint address numbers on curbs on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at around 5:00 p.m.

The Chihuahua owner-victim refused the suspected thief’s services, and shortly thereafter, noticed Dulce, his Chihuahua puppy, was missing from the residence.

A neighbor reported that a man matching the description of the suspected Chihuahua thief, had offered to paint his curb as well. At that time, the suspected Chihuahua thief was carrying none other than a Chihuahua puppy, that was wearing a distinctive pink and black collar, just like Dulce had been wearing when she disappeared.

The suspected Chihuahua thief is described as a 35 to 40 year old white male, 5’10”, 150lbs, with black hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black shorts, and wearing a backpack. He was riding a black mountain bike.

Dulce is described as dark coated, with a white belly, and was last seen wearing a pink and black collar.

If you recognize this man or have further information, contact the Mesa Police Department.
